360 degrees at Hu'u gallery
360 degrees marks the beginning of a new outlook for
Nokia sponsored hu’u gallery, located on level 2 of hu’u
in bangkok.
Colombian born Klaus Fruchtnis is the opening artist for hu’u
gallery, with an exhibition that showcases his innate photography talents,
at this his first solo Bangkok show. “360 degrees” boasts a selection of vivid and narrative images compelling the viewer
to investigate the stories found in the waiting room, rooftop and sidewalk
café scene captured by his camera.
“Klaus sets up a strategy of vision, not simply a specific manner
to look at. That consists……to cross the mirror and see the
things from the angle which we can never see. Each object in the world
has two faces, and the images which are set up by Klaus are the illusion
of a scene which communicates with the other side of the mirror.”
by Estefania Sokoloff, Curator & Cultural Director of the Centro
Colombo-Americano of Bogota.
With an acknowledged reputation as a ‘image maker’ established
through his history of keenly reviewed exhibitions opened in galleries
across the world, Fruchtnis is excited to learn how Bangkok will react
to his work.
“We are glad to be working with hu’u gallery and to be able
to showcases many artists to the Bangkok public in 2006. A picture tells
more than a thousand words. It is one of the greatest ways to communicate,
to connect with people. Our imaging mobile phones are designed and produced
to free people from boundary limitation, enabling them to take pictures,
look at things at different angles and point of views, store them, and
share them with others in various ways” Una Tan, Marketing Manager,
